The Mildred Eual Center
A Senior Resource Program
Mildred Eual Center Services
Our mission: To collaborate with local organizations and the community to provide quality resources to a diverse group of seniors and veterans emphasizing literacy, independent living, health-wellness and community resource services.
Community Care and Resources:
Alzheimer's Resources and Support
Our center provides Alzheimer's support services to caregivers. We connect families with the necessary information to make caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's a more comfortable transition.
Computer Literacy Courses
Our center focuses on increasing computer access and internet inclusion at senior living centers and computer literacy in the Mildred Eual Center (MEC) Computer Learning Lab. Seniors are excited to learn how to navigate through the internet and staying touch by emailing family members.
Elder Abuse/Mistreatment Advocacy
We serve as advocates for intentional or neglectful acts by a caregiver or trusted individual that can lead to harm of a vulnerable senior/elder.
Our center provides small interior/exterior home repairs for senior/elderly disabled in rural areas of Caddo and Bossier Parishes. These small construction projects help to improve the quality of life for our seniors and the community.
Mental Health/Counseling Referral Services/Medication Management
Mental Health is important at every state of life. We refer clients to trusted professionals who offer counseling for emotional, psychological and social well-being. Our counseling referral services helps seniors/elderly clarify concerns and helps them to learn a variety of ways to most effectively cope and/or resolve problems.
We partner with medical professionals who offer monitoring of medications and assist the client with complying with a medication regimen prescribed by their physician.
Independent Living Skills/Nutrition-Wellness
Our living skills program is designed to help seniors/elderly who are home bound and/or with disabilities in learning new and healthy Independent Living Skills. Our center sponsors Community Health Fairs that will identify barriers that may prevent seniors/elderly from living as independently as possible by making these resources available.
